What We Do
Consulting is very vague-it can mean all sorts of things. Here we have honest, transparent conversations about life, about what's stressing you out, about how to manage your anxiety or depression, and anything and everything in between. The goal is to help you become whoever it is you want to be, to help you unpack that big ol' box of bullshit you've been carrying around most of your life that's finally gotten too heavy to keep carrying, to help you feel like you aren't alone in getting through this thing we call Life. We show up as humans and meet you as humans. There's no magic answer, no quick fix to any issue. What we offer is room. Room to say what you need to say without judgement. Room to process whatever it may be that you need to process with someone whose perception of you won't change because you said THAT. Room to grow and learn who you can be, even when everybody else says you can't.
What makes us different is that we DO it different. We do REAL. We aren't going to pretend that everything is sunshine and daisies-have you been outside lately? Nothing is ever always sunshine and daisies-be so fucking for real right now. Can we fix it? Maybe, I don't know. We can definitely sit with you though and listen. We can help teach you some things that may be helpful-if you actually try it. We can absolutely make sure you don't feel like you're the only one dealing with whatever it may be because you aren't. Truth is, we're all a little fucked up-some of us are more upfront about that fact than others and some of us have figured out how to use that transparency with a little bit of humor to help others. (Hi it's me.)
The best part of all of this is it is all OFF the record and still HIPPA Compliant. There isn't any documentation for your insurance to use to hike your rates. There isn't any documentation that may threaten your career. There isn't any of the bullshit that keeps people from considering asking for outside help. That's really why I chose 'consulting'- you don't even have to say or think the words 'therapist' or 'mental health.' It was an intentional choice. I've learned most people, myself included, feel like a failure in one way or another if they can't figure everything out on their own. Reality is, none of us are built to do that, we all need some help sometimes.
